ADSC – UAE National Sailing Championships

Abu Dhabi Sailing Club (ADSC) participated in the UAE National Sailing championships held on the 7th & 8th of October 2023 at Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club (ADMSC).

The event, one of five events organised across the UAE to ultimately decide the UAE champion had 99 entries from 19 nationalities including national sailing teams from Bahrain, Kuwait and the UAE across the Optimist and ILCA (Laser) fleets.

Difficult sea conditions and high temperatures contributed to some very close racing and ADSC sailing team did not disappoint with 6 members finishing in the top 15 of the ILCA 7 class. (6th Richard Wood, 8^th Kerry Burton, 11^th Peter Vaughan, 12^th Paul Henry Leruth, 13^th John Paul Carpenter, 14^th Rob McLachlan)

The overall ILCA 7 event was won by Abdulla Janahi from Bahrain National Sailing Team, 2^nd John Woolcock from DOSC and 3^rd Hamza Al Ali from the UAE Sailing Team.

The ADSC team is now focusing on next year’s championship and looking for a sponsor.
